I was going to order eleven of the Stepping-Stones, and as the reviews were all complaints about the stones all looking so faded concerned me, I called and voiced my concerns. I was assured that if it were so, then I would have no problem returning them.
So I ordered them. And yes, sadly they were all faded looking. True to their word, without any long waiting, they delivered another batch.
I saw the invoice whereas the woman in customer service had written my concerns and asked to have the lettering made darker.
As I was getting ready to pack up the second box. The thought came to me, that the stones looked like there was a film on top..
I sprayed 409 All Purpose Cleaner on it, waited a minute or two, then using a rag washed the top of the stone. Then using another rag, rinsed it off, and dried it with a dry rag. Left it out on the counter, and within an hour, the filmy look was gone and the lettering was bright. I am also having someone apply a coat or two of a clear sealant.
As I had planned to have a section of my gardens made into a "Memory Garden", a stone for all the deceased members of my family. I had been on a search for more than a year, looking for "just the right" thing. Nothing hit me the way this Stepping Stone did.
A few minutes is all it took to have the lettering "pop" out.

completely faded
don't waste your money- the personalization completely faded. all that is left is the faded the ivy . the personalization is completely gone. Granted I live in Florida, but it was shaded under a tree and it still faded. I should ask for my money back but it would cost me more to send it back than it is worth!

Very Easy Correction
I orderd 5 and 1 came in and was mispelled, so I prepared myself for the long and annoying process of getting the issue fixed. To my surprise it was easy, fast and the woman I spoke to was very nice and professional. She made the process quick and painless!!!! I received my new correct stepping stone in no time at all!! Thanks and I will be making many more purchases!!!!

Disappointed
The first one I got, the name was spelled incorrectly even though it was correct on box. Thankfully I looked at it before giving as a rememberence gift. I new one was sent at no cost but the replacement one's lettering was smaller and in a very dim gold. Disappointed that the first one which was much brighter but name spelled wrong was replaced with one that is very dim. Would have been much better if first one was correct.

Srtepping Stone
I am disappointed with the lettering, the color is too pale. It should have been deeper or brighter. Otherwise I like the stepping stone. I purchased 5 of them as a remembrance to my grandchildren of their great gramma for their gardens. They all have gardens and they were very happy to receive them, but they did agree when I asked them that the lettering could have been darker. But I do love Terry's Village and I have ordered other things through the years. But this item I do hope they will improve. Thank you

Can't read inscription
I ordered two of these stones to put in our garden memorializing some family pets. The inscription is in a gold/tan writing that you cannot even read on the tan stone. If it's at the right angle, it's legible, but looking straight on, it blends in with the stone. Very disappointed.

Just what I wanted.
Only problem is that the letters were pale. I drew over with a metalic permanent marker and intend to glaze over, so hopefully it won't fade and will last a longer time.
